Daniel Kehler

In April of 2022, Daniel Kehler was hired as the head coach of the Montreat College men’s and women’s golf programs. Kehler coached the Cavaliers for three seasons through February of 2025.

YEAR-BY-YEAR HIGHLIGHTS

2024-25 (Men's Golf)
  • Coached Alex Murphy to a fifth-place individual finish at the AAC Fall Preview (Oct. 28-29).
  • Athlete achievements: 1 Second Team All-AAC, 3 AAC All-Academic Team members.
2023-24 (Women's Golf)
  • Finished runner-up at the Fincastle Intercollegiate, marking the program's first runner-up finish at a tournament with three or more teams since 2019.
  • Athlete achievements: 2 CSC Academic All-District® At-Large Team honorees, 3 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes, 4 AAC All-Academic Team members.
2023-24 (Men's Golf)
  • Finished 9th of 13 teams at AAC Direct Qualifier.
  • Athlete achievements: 1 AAC Golfer of the Week, 1 AAC All-Academic Team.
2023-24 (Women's Golf)
  • Finished 8th of 8 teams at AAC Direct Qualifier.
  • Athlete achievements: 1 CSC Academic All-District Women's At-Large Team, 2 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes, 1 AAC All-Academic Team.
2022-23 (Men's Golf)
  • Finished 10th of 13 teams at AAC Direct Qualifier.
  • Athlete achievements: 1 AAC Golfer of the Week, 1 AAC All-Academic Team.
2022-23 (Women's Golf)
  • Finished 9th of 9 teams at AAC Direct Qualifier.

PRIOR TO MONTREAT
 
Kehler, who was a student-athlete with the Cavaliers during his undergraduate education, returned to Montreat in the role of head coach. The Marion, N.C. native spent four seasons competing as a member of the men’s golf team, while also contributing regularly as a men’s basketball athlete.
 
Kehler lives in the Marion, N.C. area with his wife, Hayley.
