Dasha Sharova was hired as the assistant coach for Montreat women's basketball in March of 2017. In addition to her responsibilities as a coach, Sharova worked as a basketball instructor and is currently a site manager for PGC Basketball.
Prior to her experience in Montreat, Sharova spent time at fellow Appalachian Athletic Conference school and her alma mater, Bryan College. Initially, Sharova helped the staff as a student assistant her senior year.
Following a short stint at the University of Tennessee- Chattanooga as an intern strength and conditioning coach where Sharova assisted with the strength and conditioning aspects of several of the athletic teams at the school, she returned to her alma mater to coach as an assistant for a year. During that time, Sharova also performed strength and coniditioning training programs for women's soccer.
Originally from Norilsk, Russia, Sharova coached young talent at basketball school under the professional basketball club Sparta&k. While in Russia, she also began her playing career, in Norilsk, St. Petersburg and Moscow.
After growing up overseas, Sharova transitioned to America, playing basketball at Northwest College in Wyoming for a season before transferring to Bryan to play two more with the Lions. During her time at Bryan, the Lions competed at the NAIA Division II National Tournament twice and won an Appalachian Athletic Conference Championship.
Sharova, who completed her B.S. in Exercise Science at Bryan in 2016, recently received her M.S in Exercise Science: Fitness and Performance from Liberty University.
Sharova and her husband, Zach, live in Montreat.
