Montreat College has named Andrew McAllister as the new assistant coach for the women's volleyball team. McAllister comes to Montreat with an extensive background in volleyball. He is a 2004 Graduate of Simpson University in Redding, CA, where he was a member of the men's team and a student assistant coach for the women's program while earning a degree in Youth Ministry. In 2001, McAllister began coaching club volleyball and worked as a coach at Central Valley High School in Shasta Lake, California. In 2006, McAllister moved to Florida where he worked as an assistant coach for Warner University women's volleyball and softball teams. In 2008, McAllister moved to Seattle to earn his Master's of Education in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership. While in Seattle, McAllister served as the assistant volleyball coach at Bellevue College. Most recently, McAllister has been the Head Club Coach and Director of Eastside Volleyball Academy since 2010. He was also the varsity coach at Eastside Prep for 3 years. In 2013, McAllister became a member of USA Volleyball's High Performance Staff, where he has the privilege to work and learn alongside some of the nation's top coaches. McAllister currently holds a USA Volleyball CAP II certification, with his CAP III in progress. In addition, he also holds both SafeSport and TrueSport certifications.

On working with McAllister, Montreat head volleyball coach Kristy Kamer said, "We are extremely excited to welcome Andrew to our family.  His love and passion for Christ shined through during our conversations.  I am excited to bring his knowledge and love for the game to Montreat. "

Andrew comes to Montreat along with his wife, Holly and their 3 sons, Oakley, Westen and Sawyer.
