BANNER ELK, N.C.— Montreat's men's tennis squad traveled to Lees-McRae College to face the Bobcats in a team match on Tuesday. The Cavs fell to the NCAA Division II institution by a team score of 6-1.
 
In doubles play, the Cavaliers lost all three matches. Jorge Cebria and Daniel Garcia Estrabot lost their battle, 6-3. The other two losses were 6-1 in favor of the hosts.
 
In the singles matches, the Cavaliers won just one of them courtesy of Youssef Idboufous. He won his match in two sets by scores of 6-2 and 7-5. Ibai Lopez lost a tight first set that required a tiebreak to separate the individuals. Lopez lost the extra serves, 7-3, and then the second set, 6-3. Cebria lost his singles dual in straight sets, 6-4 and 6-2. Ben Smith and Danel Diez lost their offerings 6-0 in both frames.
 
Idboufous won the most games for Montreat with 13. Lopez and Cebria followed behind with nine and six wins, respectively.
 
The Cavaliers will go on the road to Pikeville, Ky. to face the (RV) University of Pikeville Bears on Friday. The match will be the third of four team matches in the calendar week for the Cavs. First serves will begin at 3 p.m.
