BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C.— The Montreat College men's lacrosse team is geared up and ready for its 2026 campaign. Unveiling its 16-game regular season schedule earlier this year, the Cavaliers are anticipated to play nine Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) contests and eight total home games. With plenty of quality opponents on the docket, five of Montreat's 16 contests feature programs that reached the quarterfinal round of last year's national tournament.
Six straight nonconference clashes open the Cavs' 2026 slate. Montreat's season opener on Feb. 7 also serves as its home opener. On that date, the squad plays host to Pfeiffer University, an NCAA Division III program, at Pulliam Stadium. Following the home matchup, the Cavaliers hit the road for three consecutive contests, including a pair of battles in St. Louis against Missouri Baptist University and Midland University.
The end of February signifies the start of a stretch littered with games at Pulliam Stadium. Beginning with a Feb. 28 showdown versus Madonna University, Montreat plays seven of its ensuing 10 contests in Black Mountain, N.C. While the Cavs' AAC opener is at Tennessee Wesleyan University on March 12, the squad welcomes last season's conference and national finalists to town during the extended homestand. Keiser University, who beat the University of the Cumberlands in both the AAC and NAIA title games, visits the Cavaliers on March 26. Meanwhile, UC ends Montreat's run of home matchups on April 11.
Back-to-back road clashes wrap up the 2026 regular season slate. The Cavs swing through Columbia, S.C. on April 16 prior to concluding their 16-game campaign on April 18 at SCAD Savannah.
With a good showing in league play, the Cavaliers aim to be among the six teams that qualify for the AAC Tournament. This year's postseason bracket is currently scheduled to start on April 25 and run through May 2.
