Dayton, TN - The Montreat College men's soccer team saw their 2015 season come to a close Saturday night after falling to top-seeded Bryan College 3-1 in quarterfinal action of the Appalachian Athletic Conference tournament.

On a chilly and wet evening, the teams failed to get the offense going early on. Bryan managed to get on the board in the 37th minute and took that lead into halftime. After managing only three shots in the first half, the Cavaliers turned up the offensive attack going into the second frame. However, it was the Lions who found the back of the net, scoring twice in the fist 10 minutes of the second half. Ryan Buick (SO/Banbury, England ) would get Montreat on the board, scoring on a penalty kick in the 67th minute. That score would prove to be the final tally of the evening, as the host school won to advance to the tournament semifinals.

The Cavaliers end the season with a winning record of 8-7-2, The Cavaliers ended the season ranked 27th nationally in goals per match (2.88) and 38th in assists per match (1.94). Esgardo Arroyo (SR/Buford, GA) wrapped up a stellar career for the Cavaliers ranking 14th nationally in total assists (11), 15th in assists per match (0.69), 19th in shots per match (4.25), and 24th in points per match (2.06).

West Point, GA - The Montreat College men's soccer team has advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2015 Appalachian Athletic Conference tournament after defeating Point University 1-0 on Tuesday night.

Both teams were locked in a defensive battle until Dale McClelland (SO/Ayr, Scotland) found the top left corner of the goal in the 86th minute in what proved to be the game-winner.

Miguel Tudon (SO/Vila-Real, Spain) had four saves in goal for the Cavaliers (8-6-2), who earned their third shutout of the season. Montreat will advance to take on #1 seed Bryan College on Saturday, November 7 at 7pm.

Asheville, NC - The seedings and pairings for the 2015 Appalachian Athletic Conference men's soccer tournament were released on Sunday. The Montreat College men's soccer team (7-6-2) will enter the tournament as the #9 seed and will travel to take on #8 seed Point University on Tuesday, November 3. The match time has not yet been set.
