BOX SCORE

West Point, GA - The Montreat College men's soccer team was in action on the road Wednesday evening against Appalachian Athletic Conference opponent Point University. After battling to a 2-2 tie in regulation, the Skyhawks ended the game in the third minute of overtime with a game clinching goal to end the match 3-2.

After Point got on the board in the 10th minute, Montreat used a strong defensive effort to force the Skyhawks into an own goal to even the match at 1-1. Two minutes later, Point was able to break free and score their second goal of the half. The 2-1 score would remain until the Cavaliers got a critical equalizer from Esgardo Arroyo (SR/Buford, GA) in the 85th minute. After heading to extra time, the Skyhawks were able to put a run together that culminated in the game-winning goal.

As the Cavaliers (6-6-2) await their match-up for the upcoming AAC Tournament, the Cavaliers will wrap up the regular season at home on Saturday, October 31st when they host Laurel University at 3:30pm at Howard Fisher Memorial Field. The match will also serve as the Senior Day recognition for the Cavaliers.

Waleska, GA - The Montreat College men's soccer team fell to Reinhardt University 4-0 in Appalachian Athletic Conference action on Sunday. Reinhardt scored twice in each half while holding the Cavaliers without a goal for only the second time this season.

The Cavaliers return to action on Wednesday, October 28 on the road against Point University.

Bluefield, VA - The Montreat College men's soccer team picked up a crucial win Wednesday night, defeating Bluefield College 3-2 in Appalachian Athletic Conference action.

The Cavaliers (6-4-2) opened up the scoring in the 16th minute when Dale McClelland (SO/Ayr, Scotland) found the back of the net off of an assist from Esgardo Arroyo (SR/Buford, GA). In the 24th,minute Arroyo would earn his second assist when he found George Stanley (SO/West Yorkshire, England) open for a score that gave the Cavaliers a 2-0 advantage heading into the break.

The Rams responded with two goals of their own in the second half but Montreat was able to seal the victory when McClelland scored again in the 79th minute.

The Cavaliers return to action on Sunday, October 25th when they face Reinhardt University in Waleska, GA. Match time is set for 3:15pm.
