Montreat College is a Christian liberal arts college accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to offer master's, bachelor's, and associate's degrees.

The main campus is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains fifteen miles east of Asheville, North Carolina, a region recognized as one of the most attractive living environments in the United States. The College is committed to Christ-centered teaching and learning, and is a member of the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities.

The Montreat College Athletic Department is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC).  We are the only NAIA-affiliated institution in the state of North Carolina.

We compete in 13 sports; women's volleyball, women's soccer, men's soccer, women's golf, men's golf, women's cross country, men's cross country, women's basketball, men's basketball, women's softball, men's baseball, women's track and field, and men's track and field.  We also have four junior varsity sports; men's soccer, men's basketball, women's basketball, and men's baseball.
