With over 16 years in the golf industry, in roles that have included club professional, tournament director and player, private instructor, and merchandiser, John has developed a love and passion for growing the game at all levels. A PGA of America certified teaching professional, John has conducted over 1,500 lessons, including individual instruction, playing lessons, as well as junior and group clinics. His teaching and coaching philosophy is simple: “I teach and coach people, not processes, and strive to create an atmosphere of patience and caring with each and every student that is, at its core, Christ-centered."
John had this to say about becoming the new Head Golf Coach at Montreat College, "I am very excited to be a part of the Montreat College family and look forward to building the golf program while impacting lives for Christ." He is a 2 time member of the PGA President's Council on "Growing the Game" and an active participant in Play Golf America.
John and his wife Caitlin live in Asheville and attend Arden Presbyterian Church. He earned his degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Professional Golf Management and Marketing from Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC.
