Montreat College's Athletic Director Jose Larios is pleased to announce the hiring of Justin Pollock as the Cavaliers' new head baseball coach. Pollock comes to Montreat from Toccoa Falls College in northeast Georgia.
"I'm extremely grateful for President Maurer, Athletic Director Larios, and the search committee for this opportunity. We have a tremendous platform at Montreat College and I'm excited to lead a group of young men who seek to honor Christ in the classroom, in the community, and on the baseball field," shared Coach Pollock.
Coach Pollock, with over 250 career wins (267-245), led the Eagles of Toccoa Falls to a 158-88 record in the last five of his 11 seasons. Pollock's Eagles also earned a trip to the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) World Series in seven consecutive seasons, winning the national title four times and finishing second twice. Pollock has been named the NCCAA National Coach of the Year four different times.
"We're excited to have Coach Pollock lead our baseball program. His heart for sports ministry and using baseball to develop godly leadership and character fits precisely with our college and department's mission. He has great passion for the game and is a relentless recruiter," said Larios. "We welcome the Pollock family to Montreat College."
Justin and his wife Joy have four children: Jackson, Chase, Easton and a daughter Brooklyn. Coach Pollock begins his official duties on July 13th, 2015.
