Montreat, NC - Brent Black, a senior at Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy, this week confirmed his intentions to play for the Cavaliers Men's Soccer team for the 2012 season. 

Though born is Ekaterinburg, Russia, Brent grew up in Akron Ohio.  He's done well both for his high school team and his club team, Woodridge Premier Football Club.  In 2010, Brent was a vital part of his side's success, making it to the state finals for both his club and his high school, playing mostly left back.  For his Freshman year at Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy, Brent earned the Rookie of the Year award, finishing his freshman year with 5 goals and 3 assists.  For his club team, he won the State Championship in 2009, and made it to the State finals in 2010.

When asked about why he chose Montreat, Brent replied that he enjoyed the guys on the team and loved the diversity of being a part of an international squad with representation from many different countries and cultures.  "It is such a unique and different environment in which every person from every country has so much to teach you" Brent said.

Brent will be majoring in Business while at Montreat.
