TIGERVILLE, SC - The Montreat College baseball team dropped a 9-5 decision to North Greenville University on Tuesday in an out-of-conference matchup.

The Cavaliers (5-2, 0-0 AAC) fell behind 6-0 after three innings and NGU added three more runs in the bottom of the seventh to put the game out of reach. Montreat did add three runs in the top of the 8th inning courtesy of back-to-back doubles by Andres Cancio (SR/Orlando, FL) and Tray Hill (SR/Chickamauga, GA) but it would not be enough as the team had it's five-game winning streak snapped.

Cancio went 2-4 with a home run, double, and 2 RBI while the team as a whole collected eight hits. Jacob Veliz (SO/Lakeland, FL) picked up the loss after giving up six runs on six hits in three innings of work.

The team will be back in action this weekend when they host Northwest Ohio for a four-game series. The teams will play a double-header on Saturday with the first pitch scheduled for 11:00am.
