Montreat College is a Christian liberal arts college accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to offer master's, bachelor's, and associate's degrees.


The main campus is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains fifteen miles east of Asheville, North Carolina, a region recognized as one of the most attractive living environments in the United States. The College is committed to Christ-centered teaching and learning, and is a member of the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities.


The Montreat College Athletic Department is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC).  We are the one of only two NAIA-affiliated institutions in the state of North Carolina and the longest tenured.


Sports Offered

We compete in 17 varsity sports; Fall: men's cross country, women's cross country, men's soccer, women's soccer, volleyball; Winter: men's basketball, women's basketball; Spring: baseball, softball, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, men's tennis, women's tennis, men's track & field, women's track & field. The department also offers four junior varsity teams; Fall: volleyball and women's soccer; Spring: baseball and softball. In addition to the varsity and junior varsity teams men's soccer provides a club team.
